Nirmala Sitharaman attended programme held on SBI financial inclusion outreach

Guwahati: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman attended the Financial Inclusion Outreach Programme being arranged by State Bank of India under the direction of the Department of Financial Services, Govt. of India in Guwahati on Thursday. The three day programme started at Khanapara Veterinary College Ground. Various Commercial Banks, Small Finance Banks, NBFCs, NABARD, Insurance Companies, Self Help Groups, FPOs, etc. have participated in the three-day outreach event. Chairman of SBI Sh Rajnish Kumar also attended the program, stated a press release.

Activities such as opening a bank account, Aadhaar seeding of bank account, Aadhaar enrolment; enrolment for micro-insurance schemes namely Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and micro-pension scheme namely Atal Pension Yojana, etc. were being facilitated at the stalls. Banks showcased success stories of entrepreneurs financed by the banks. The Union Finance Minister visited all the stalls and took stock of the facilities provided by the banks and other organizations. The Finance Minister while addressing the gathering said that the various government-sponsored schemes which have been shown by the banks through the stalls in the outreach program is showcased. And the public should get the benefits of the various Government sponsored schemes directly.
