The minister also added that there is no point in comparing Article 370 with Article 371. It has also been added that the people of the nation are being tried to be misled by someone in the name of removing Article 371. It was added that the government has no intention in removing Article 371. This article was implemented to give some special rights to some of the Northeastern states.

As per Article 371(G) of the Constitution of India, the Parliament has no right to decide on the matters of the religious and social practices of the Mizos along with the civil and criminal law of the land, land ownership transfer, and customary law procedure without the consent of the Assembly.

However, the Article 371A states that no act of Parliament shall apply to the state of Nagaland in respect of the religious or social practices of the Nagas, its customary law and procedure, administration of civil and criminal justice involving decisions according to Naga customary law and ownership and transfer of land and its resources.
