Noted social worker passes away

Tezpur, May 19: Tapan Kumar Chakravarty, a noted social worker, businessman and owner of Eastern Stores Agency of Tezpur town, passed away on Saturday morning at a private hospital in Guwahati, leaving behind his wife and two daughters. He was 70.

Chakravarty, a resident of Ranu Singh Road near Hem Baruah Smriti Bhavan, was suffering from prolonged illness and was under treatment. He was involved in many sports, social and cultural organizations.His body arrived in Tezpur in the afternoon and his last rites were performed at Marabharalipar public crematorium.
