Numaligarh High School Teacher Bags State-level Honor

Numaligarh: Mohen Saikia, Headmaster of Numaligarh High School, received the State Teacher Award, 2019 on the occasion of Teachers’ Day at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra, Guwahati recently.

Saikia is among 36 teachers of the State who received the ‘Best Performing Teachers’ award and were felicitated by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. State Education Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya, educationist Indrani Dutta, and Principal Secretary, Education, Manindar Singh and a host of dignitaries were present on the occasion.

Mohen Saikia was born in Bordihingia village near Kamargaon; He joined Numaligarh High School as an assistant teacher on January 28, 1992 and was promoted as headmaster on July 8, 2017. He has been awarded by Bokakhat Subdivisional administration for his active role in promoting quality education in 2017. In the same year he also received the Best Teacher Award in the district level. Saikia is a well-known writer too.
