Over 600 People Affected by Flood in Dhansiri Subdivision,Golaghat

Sarupathar, July 31: The flood situation worsened on Tuesday with over 600 people in 70 families affected by the flood in Harhari and Dhundasam under Ratanpur panchayat in Dhansiri subdivision. According to sources, the hydro-electrical power project of NEEPCO released the excess amount of water through four radial gates on Saturday due to which Dayang river and Dhansiri river are flowing above the danger mark.

The border areas of Assam-Nagaland through which river Dayang flows, Chungajan- Naoghat area, Barpathar-Santipur area and Gelabil area where river Dhansiri flows are worst-affected.
