GUWAHATI: The Assam government may impose complete lockdown in parts of the Dibrugarh District in order to curb the spread of COVID-19 Infection.

Earlier the government said that a thorough assessment will be made in 9 districts of Assam- Tinsukia, Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Nagaon, Morigaon, Sonitpur, Biswanath, and Cachar.

Notably, in the last couple of days the spread of the infection has come down significantly, however, parts of the districts wherein cases are more could face complete lockdown for the next 10 days.

According to sources, for Guwahati, there might be curfew relaxations in which residents will get a window of extra hours. The covid curfew right now starts at 2 PM and shops and establishments are closed at 1 PM, however, there are good chances that the curfew will start at 6 PM with shops and establishments closing at 5 PM.
