Patient Dies in Jagiroad Hospital, Wrong Treatment Alleged

JAGIROAD: One Rafik Ali (40) of Silbhanga under Jagiroad PS died in the Mahatma Gandhi Model Hospital on Wednesday. Sources said that Rafik Ali was admitted in the Mahatma Gandhi Model Hospital here for treatment of severe arm pain.

The doctor suggested injection and after the treatment, the patient left the hospital. But it is alleged that after some time the patient revisited the hospital along with his relatives in a serious condition and complained of recurrence of pain.

The patient died in the hospital following which an unruly situation took place in the hospital. Jagiroad Police brought the situation under control. The family members alleged wrong treatment and demanded action against the doctor.

Police sent the body to Morigaon Civil Hospital for post-mortem. On the other hand, the doctor denied any wrong treatment and said that they should wait for the post-mortem report.
