People of Karbi Anglong in Meghalaya border to refuse voter ID, schemes from Meghalaya

Hamren: People of West Karbi Anglong living near the Meghalaya border held a meeting at Laru center playground on Sunday where many representatives from Laru, Rong-theang, Murap, Ok-lokpi, Langhonjar, Mowdladiang, Ummm, Umlapher, West Umlapher villages were present.

In the meeting, the Village Defence Party (VDP) was reshuffled. It was also decided that they would refuse solar scheme and voter ID from Meghalaya. The representatives lamented that even though Assam and Meghalaya were separated since 1950, the area was still a disputed area.

The meeting also decided to support the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) in the development of the area.
