Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary to reopen today for public

JAGIROAD: Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary at Mayong in the district of Morigaon will reopen for public from Tuesday. State Forest and Environment Minister ParimalShuklabaidya, in presence of local MLA PijushHazarika and senior government officers, will formally declare the reopening of the sanctuary on Tuesday. The sanctuary had been closed for about six months following the COVID-19 pandemic. The forest department has extended all efforts to give a new look to the sanctuary and as such, many tourists are expected the visit in the coming days. All resorts and the entire area have been given an attractive look and the resort owners and local people are eagerly waiting for the reopening of the sanctuary. Jeep and elephant safari have also been given a fresh look.
