Poetry book 'Mero Prayas' in Nepali language released

HAFLONG: In a solemn function held at Kali Bari premises in presence of galaxy of members from literary bodies of Dima Hasao, 'Mero Prayas' a poetry book in Nepali language was released on Sunday.

The function was attended by General Secretary of Dimasa Sahitya Sabha, Kumud Kemprai, General Secretary of Asom Sahitya Sabha, Niva Dutta Ravi, renowned poet Naranyan Chakraborty, president of Nepali Sahitya Sabha Mitre Prasad Upadhyay etc.

All the speakers while expressing concern over the reluctance in reading books among young generation appreciated Laxmi Jaishi for her keen interest in literature etc.

Author of the book Laxmi Jaishi Ghimire is a writer, social worker and a teacher in an Upper Medium Government school in Haflong, Assam. 56-year-old veteran teacher worked closely for the welfare and education of women and children. She is a member of the Nari Sangharshan Organization and the Literature Secretary of the Aama Manch under the Nepali Sanskriti Suraksha Parishad of Dima Hasao.
