Poor road condition causes resentment in Karbi Anglong

Hamren: Under West Karbi Anglong district, the No. 4 Socheng MAC constituency is grappling with many problems, prominent being lack of proper road communication facilities. Harlonglangdo - Birik-Longtar, the oldest village under Socheng MAC constituency, does not have a black-topped road. About 6 km of the Bithalangso -Hamren NEC Road from Borpung to Sot Recho Me School is in a deplorable condition. Despite various pleas to the authorities concerned, no steps have been taken to repair the road.

The road surface has become slippery, making it extremely hazardous for vehicles to pass through. Left with no other, the local people have begun repairing the road on their own. They have warned that unless the road is blacktopped, they would not cast their votes in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
