Power tillers distributed among beneficiaries in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar: The Project Director, ITDP, Kokrajhar organized ceremonial distribution of power tillers to beneficiaries under WPT & BC Department, Assam for the year 2018-19 LAC wise under Kokrajhar district held at Titaguri Raja Irogdao community hall on Saturday in Kokrajhar.

Talking to reporters, State Social Welfare Minister Pramila Rani Brahma said that a total of 30 power tillers for the three constituencies of Kokrajhar East, Kokrajhar West and Gossaigaon to the beneficiaries under WPT & BC Department, Assam would be distributed. She said 10 power tillers were ceremonially given to the beneficiaries in Kokrajhar LAC No 30 East Kokrajhar constituency and more tractors and power tillers would be distributed to beneficiaries for the benefit of the farmers of the BTC region as soon as possible. She also said that the agriculture department of BTC was also trying to provide modern agricultural equipment to increase the agricultural products.

Brahma said the farmers should lay stress on the enhancement of more products and double income by cultivating triple crops like other farmers who are adopting multiple cropping in a small plot of lands.
