Preparations afoot for Falcon Festival near Umrangso

Haflong: Preparations for hosting the Falcon Festival at the golf course near Umrangso are going on in full swing. The festival aims to create awareness about the conservation of birds and animals among masses and to promote tourism. It will be organized by N C Hills Autonomous Council from November 15 to November 17.

Showcasing tradition culture and also ethnic cuisines of different communities will be a major part of the festival. In addition, there will be a fashion show and bands from outside the State, as well as local bands, will perform. People from various parts of the country are expected to come to the Falcon Festival. People will also get the opportunity to watch Amur Falcons in the roosting hub near the NEEPCO reservoir.

Nandita Gorlosa, Executive Member of N C Hills Autonomous Council, said, “Everything is going on very well and we will host this event with active support from the Chief Executive Member of NCHAC, Debolal Gorlosa.”
