Prohibitory orders imposed in Lekhapani Forest Range
Apprehending entry of unauthorised persons and miscreants engaged into felling of trees, illegal mining and transportation in Lekhapani Reserve Forest

TINSUKIA: Apprehending entry of unauthorised persons and miscreants engaged into felling of trees, illegal mining and transportation in Lekhapani Reserve Forest, Tirap Reserve Forest and Tipong Reserve Forest under Lekhapani Range in Digboi Forest Division, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate Margherita PreetiKumari by an order promulgated 144 CrPC in Lekhapani Forest Range prohibiting entry of unauthorised persons, outsiders and public and entry of vehicles like excavators, JCB's, dumpers etc in Lekhapani, Tirap and Tipong Reserve Forests besides clearing of jungles, damage to forest products, felling of trees, poaching and encroachment.
The order exempted paramilitary forces, police personnel, forest officials on government duties. The order came into force with immediate effect and will remain in force for 60 days, the order stated.
