Project director of Assam Urban Infrastructure Investment Programme takes stock of solid waste-management plant at Lekai, Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh: Project Director of Assam Urban Infrastructure Investment Programme, Vinod Sesan visited Dibrugarh on Tuesday and took stock of the progress of the under-construction solid waste management plant at Lekai.

Earlier in the day, in a meeting held at the office of Dibrugarh Municipal Board, he informed that the State Government had set a target of finishing the construction of the plant by May 1, 2020. He also informed that the AUIIP solid waste management expert would be here to monitor the progress.

He also ordered to examine whether the practice of segregating the solid and liquid waste was being followed in the urban region, besides finding out the status of the revenue collected in exchange for the service offered by the DMB to collect the wastes from individual households.
