Rath Yatra celebrated

JOYSAGAR, July 15: The Sri Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra was celebrated in Sivasagar on Saturday by the Sri Sri Bishnu Dol Managing Committee of Sivasagar town. The historic Bishnu Dol is situated on the bank of the historic Borpukhuri and the Sri Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra is celebrated here every year since the days of the Ahom rule in Upper Assam. Hundreds of devotees took part in the Rath Yatra and Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner PG Jha formally inaugurated the Yatra in the Bishnu Dol premises. The return journey of this Rath Yatra will take place on the evening of July 18.
