Restrictions on bursting of firecrackers in Golaghat district

GOLAGHAT: The Additional District Magistrate, Golaghat, Roktim Boruah, in exercise of power U/S 144 Cr. Pc issued some directions on bursting of firecrackers in Golaghat district on Friday during the festival of Diwali and Kali Puja.

In a order vide No. GMJ.8/2012/Pt-II/12, dated Golaghat, the 13th November, 2020, it was stated that during the festival of Diwali and Kali Puja, noise pollution caused by bursting of imported firecrackers was likely to create annoyance and cause injury to the health of general public and there was a need to prevent the same by restricting the usage of imported fire crackers and other fireworks, except green crackers, within the district.

During the festival there shall be no usage of imported firecrackers, no stocking / selling of imported fire crackers except green crackers. There shall be no bursting / usages of crackers from 22:00 hrs in the evening to 08:00 hrs in the morning.

Every box of green cracker shall mention the details of its chemical contents and that it satisfies the requirement as prescribed by the law. This order will come into force with immediate effect and remain in force until further order. In the event of any violation of this prohibitory order, action will invite prosecution u/s 188 of the IPC against the violators.
