Robbery in broad daylight in Athengia Tiniali near Mankhowa TE

DOOMDOOMA: A cash amount of Rs 50,000 and a mobile phone were looted in Athengia Tiniali near Mankhowa TE, about 8 km away from here, in broad daylight on Wednesday as a cash-carrying vehicle bearing registration number AS 23 K 9119 was proceeding towards Jairampur via Rupaisiding for payment of wages to labourers of small tea gardens there.

According to reports, a group of 4-5 dacoits intercepted the vehicle on NH-52 and took away the money by showing sharp weapons to the employees inside the vehicle. The police have not been able to nab any of the culprits although such incidents of robbery and theft are happening regularly in the area.
