Run for Democracy - unique effort to attract new voters by by Rangia Election District

RANGIA: Rangia subdivision administration as well as Rangia Election District, under the leadership of District Election Officer and SDO (C ) Swapneel Paul, has taken a unique effort to increase people's confidence in democracy and interest in voting among new voters. 'Run for Democracy' - a marathon race was organized on Saturday by Rangia Election District from Haradatta-Birdatta Bhavan to SDO (Civil) Office, Rangia as part of various programmes taken up under the Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation programme (SVEEP). The run was flagged off by District Election Officer Swapneel Paul. Hundreds of youths, especially new voters, participated in the marathon. Ashiq Baro, Firoj Ali and Sanjeeb Majumder secured first, second and third prize respectively. District Election Officer Swapneel Paul, CEO of Rangia Municipal Board, Champak Deka and Hriday Das, Election Officer, distributed the cash prizes to the winners in a small programme held at the SDO Civil office premises.
