NAGAON: Assam Agriculture University and the State Agriculture Department jointly organized a 15-day long special self-financed inputs dealers training programme at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nagaon from Thursday.
Former Extension Education Director of Assam Agriculture University, Dr Hamen Chandra Bhattacharya attended the inaugural session of the training programme as the chief guest while Dr Hiranya Kr Bora, head scientist of Regional Agriculture Research Station, Shillongani, Nagaon, Ranjan Kumar Deka, District Agriculture Officer, Nagaon and Senior Agriculture Officer Dilip Kr Bora were present as invitees.
Over 25 entrepreneurs as well as self-financed inputs dealers from Nagaon and Hojai participated in the training programme. This training for self-financed inputs dealers has been organized for the third time in the district by Assam Agriculture University and the state agriculture department. Earlier, the same institution as well as the department concerned organized the first and second phases in 2021. The training programme was ceremonially inaugurated by Dr Niranjan Deka, Head, KVK Nagaon while Dr Dipen Ch Nath anchored the entire inaugural session. Dr Julie Sarma, scientist of KVK, Nagaon, Dr Chingki Barman, Dr Animesh Deka, Dr Banti Gogoi and Dr Ashfika Islam were also present in the inaugural session of the training programme.
While addressing the occasion, Dr Niranjan Deka said the trading of agricultural inputs is a matter of concern because due to lack of proper awareness it can put negative impact on the food of domestic animals like cow, buffalo, goat, etc in crop field.
