Silver jubilee celebration of Udalguri Lekhika Santha observed

UDALGURI: The silver jubilee celebration of Udalguri Lekhika Santha was observed here at Udalguri Bishnu Rabha Krishti Sangha with a two-day programme. The programme began with the hoisting of the flag by Manju Talukdar, the president of Udalguri Lekhika Santha.

The smriti tarpan progra-mme was inaugurated by Pratibha Saharia, the adviser of the committee. A painting competition among school children was also organized. The audience took interest in the Ghosha Naam, Diha Naam and Biya Naam competitions. A poets' meet was also organized to mark the celebration. Gautamjyoti Talukdar, the president of Udalguri Zila Kavi Samaj, conducted the poets' meet. The open session was presided over by Manju Talukdar, the president of Udalguri Lekhika Santha, and inaugurated by Kiron Saikia. Five books of women writers were also released on the occasion.
