LAKHIMPUR: A total of six more COVID-19 patients were detected in Lakhimpur district on Monday.

They have been identified as Sanathoy Wahengban (28) of Bihpuriya, Ayen Ali (46) of Boginadi, Minmoy Nath (36) of Bazaar Patti of North Lakhimpur town, Rupjit Gogoi (50) of Milan Nagar of North Lakhimpur town, Jiten Narah of Salmora under Naoboicha Block Primary Health Centre and Nitul Nath of No. 2 Khalihamari under Naoboicha Block Primary Health Cente.

The District Health Department conducted Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) on 1,181 persons across the district on Saturday while the same was conducted on 233 people on Sunday.

With these newly-detected patients, the cumulative total of COVID-19 patients of the district has hiked to 8,106 since April 4 of the last year. Out of them, 7,996 recovered patients have been discharged from hospitals and home quarantine while there are 50 active cases at present. Notably, 61 people died due to Coronavirus infection in the district till the day.
