Student named Tuli Kanji drowns in Sonkosh River

Gossaigaon: A group of 10 students - three from Kokrajhar district, four from Manipur and rest three from Arunachal Pradesh - arrived at Jamduar village along the Indo-Bhutan border in Kokrajhar district for picnic on Monday.

Four of them went for swimming in the Sonkosh River where a student named Tuli Kanji (21), son of Bicki Kanji of West Chiang village in Arunachal Pradesh, went missing. A joint rescue operation was launched by Bhutan and Assam Police. His body was recovered on Tuesday afternoon and sent for post-mortem.
