'Swachhta hi Seva' campaign in Golaghat

Golaghat: Along with the rest of the country, the District Water and Sanitation Committee under the Department of PHE is going to observe Mission 100 and Swachhta Hi Seva fortnight from September 15 to October 2.

As part of Mission 100, three Piped Water Supply Schemes (PWSS) will be inaugurated on September 15 – Borbali PWSS at Sarupathar and No. 1 Borsapori PWSS and No.1 Tamulipathar PWSS (under PHE Bokakhat division). The Swachhta Hi Seva campaign will be ceremonially launched at a programme which will be held at Melamora College on Saturday. As part of the programme, cleanliness drives through shramdaan in schools, religious institutions, and one village in each GP, etc., will be carried out.

During the campaign, Swachhta Sabhas, cleanliness drives by involving district administration officials, community level meetings, focus group discussions, sports tournaments, etc will be carried out. Essay competitions among college students and art competitions among school children will also be held.

A preparatory meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Gaurav Bothra was held in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner's office on Thursday, where the detailed programme schedule for the campaign was discussed.
