Symposium on prose literature concludes in North Lakhimpur College

LAKHIMPUR: A symposium in North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous), organized under the auspices of the Assamese Department on Monday, concluded successfully.

Prominent prose litterateur of Assam, Debakanta Hundique participated as the chief resource person of the symposium which was held on a topic ‘The role of logical prose literature in the change of the society’. The inaugural session of the symposium was chaired by the Head of the Assamese Department, Lily Chelleng. Assistant professor Dr. Hemanta Sarmah delivered the initial lecture of the symposium on the origin of prose literature of Debakanta Hundique while Dr. Arabinda Rajkhowa delivered his speech on the standard of Assamese logical literature in comparison to that of the world.

Chief resource person Debakanta Hundique elaborated the background of his logical prose, highlighting the factors that led him to take pain to pen them. The students of the department made the programme dynamic and successful by interacting with the resource person on the reformation of religious belief, dogmatism and superstition.
