'Team of doctors from GMCH found no anomaly in treatment of COVID patients'

SILCHAR: Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Pijush Hazarika said the team of doctors who came with him from GMCH (Gauhati Medical College and Hospital) did not find any anomaly regarding treatment of COVID-19 patients at SMCH (Silchar Medical College and Hospital).

Hazarika said this during a press briefing at the SMC&H conference hall here on Friday.

Addressing the media persons, Hazarika said that the team of doctors from GMCH who accompanied him did not detect any anomaly pertaining to treatment of COVID-19 patients at SMCH.

Terming himself as a 'grassroot worker', Hazarika said he is working for the betterment of the people under the direction of Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. About the complaints he said, "See there are many minds, many thoughts...can't help it but the state government and the health department are working day in and day out for people's health.'

Hazarika also disclosed that 50 oxygen concentrators for SMC&H and 10 for Karimganj Civil Hospital have been allotted. 25 oxygen concentrators already arrived on Thursday at SMC&H and another 25 will reach by Friday evening.

The Minister made an appeal to the people to come forward voluntarily for getting their swab tested. "This virus is very new to the society and it spreads fast. No one should hide the symptoms if it develops," he quipped.
