TINSUKIA: Three more COVID-19 positive cases have been detected in Tinsukia district. They have been identified as Prakash Gurung of Margherita, a returnee form Chennai having 5 primary contacts and quarantined at Margherita Multipurpose Building, Munna Kumar Sah of Doomdooma having reached Tinsukia by Rajdhani express from Darbhanga Bihar and quarantined at Hotel 4U along with his 4 primary contacts.

While case of Santana Das (44) of Muliabari Digboi appears to be complex with no travel history along with her family members, she has been tested positive. Complaining of high fever she was examined at AOD (IOCL) Hospital on May 22 and was attended by Dr Tanmoy Das and Dr Ashoke. Her swab was collected on May 23 at Digboi CHC. She had 4 primary contacts including her 2 sons, husband and a relative. She was also screened during IEC/BCC awareness campaign conducted by District Task Force headed by Manjit Borkakoti ADC. A reliable source informed that she had been renovating her house with migrant labourers and carpenters since past few months.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Tinsukia by an order declared Panitanki Pathar Road in North, By-lane near Ganesh Hardware Store in South, By-lane adjoining Saumar Vidyapith and Santi Nagar Path (by-lane) under Digboi Municipality as Containment Zone.
