Ticket-centric fight continues in Sootea Congress

JAMUGURIHAT: A ticket-centric fight has vanished the enthusiasm of Congress party workers at Sootea LAC. Praneswar Basumotary, former MLA of Sootea LAC was finally shortlisted as a party candidate from the constituency. Dissatisfaction may be noticed because a total of nine ticket aspirants had applied for the party ticket form Sootea. Dadul Bokakaty, a young Congress party worker was also in the run of the party ticket along with other nine ticket aspirants whose name was out unfortunately from the final list in the last hour. The supporters of Dadul Borkakaty demonstrated here at Jamugurihat on Sunday. Holding the party flag, the supporters of Borkakaty shouted slogans in support of their favourite leader. Talking to the media persons Dadul Borkakty said, "My name was in the list till yesterday night. But it was cancelled at the last hour. It is a shock for me." According to a reliable source, Dadul Borkakaty may join the AJP (Assam Jatiya Parishad).
