A Correspondent

MORIGAON: The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Tiwa Autonomous Council, Paban Manta has expressed displeasure over baseless allegations made against him by a section of the council. In a statement, Paban Manta said that a case was registered under 266/2018 against the TAC at Morigaon Police Station by one Babul Bordoloi alleging anomalies. Gauhati High Court ordered the case to be adjourned sine die on May 24, 2019. The CEM has sharply reacted to the demand for his arrest. He said that a certain section of the TAC was trying to make the TAC unstable by publishing fake news and refraining from publishing the actual order given by court.

The CEM also alleged that Babul Bordoloi, who filed the case against the TAC, had indulged in rampant corruption when he was the president of many construction committees for development schemes of TAC under Dhakiphala constituency. Conscious people have expressed concern that the antagonism between the two sections of the council was hampering development works of the TAC since long.
