Torchlight rally against ST Bill by CCTOA

Tamulpur: The Coordination Committee for Tribal Organizations, Assam (CCTOA), on Tuesday evening taken out a torchlight rally from Anthaibari Eragdaw LP School along the Indo-Bhutan border under Tamulpur subdivision in the district of Baksa against the Constitution ST (Amendment) Bill, 2019. The torchlight rally, which was organized by Hillai Primary Committee of ABSU under Nagrijuli Anchalik Committee of the same at Baksa, started from Anthaibari Eragdao LP School and moved forward to No-3 Dongargaon, Barman Kachari Chupa, Garobaati Chupa along the Indo-Bhutan border. Hundreds of protesters from All Bodo Students’ Union, All Rabha Students’ Union, Barman Kachari Students’ Union, All Assam Tribal Sangha along with many tribal organizations under CCTOA joined the protest rally and shouted slogans against the proposal to grant ST status to six communities of Assam. The rally moved more than 7 km and concluded successfully again at Anthaibari Eragdao LP School.
