Two DNLA caders and one linkman apprehended in Karbi Anglong

Diphu: Two Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA) cadres and one linkman apprehended by the Karbi Anglong Police on Monday at Dhansiri, Bithangsi under Diphu Police Station.

Based on an Intelligence input, an operation was launched last night at Dhansri Outpost of Diphu Police station that led to arrests of one hardcore DNLA cadre identified as Ujjal Hojaisa alias Arnold, 22 yrs, son of Bikram Hojaisa, Village Marmibar Dikhamsi. He is the same cadre who carried out the blast at Bakalia on the eve of Lok Sabha Elections 2019.

Also, Sana Singha, 33 yrs, son of Late Munanta Singha, Village Dimaidi and one linkman Bikash Thapa (25) son of Padum Bahadur Thapa, village Dhansiripar Natun Basti was taken into custody.

Karbi Anglong also recovered 2 Numbers of SBBL Gun with 8 round cartridges, grenade 1(one) and .32 pistol with 1 magazine and 5 round ammunition and one .22 pistol with 1 magazine and 13 round ammunition from their possessions.

It is to be noted that Dimasa National Liberation Front (DNLA) is the newly formed ethnic insurgent group.

As per media reports, this ethic armed revolutionary group is committed to revamp the national struggle and fight for the liberation of a sovereign, Independent Dimasa Nation.

The Dimasa tribe of India unitedly formed an armed revolutionary organization in the name of Dimasa National Liberation Army under the chairmanship of Naisodao Dimasa and Home Secretary Kharmindao Dimasa. The organization is for and to develop a sense of brotherhood among the Dimasa and also to rebuild the trust and faith among the Dimasa society for regaining the Dimasa Kingdom.

The Dima Hasao district has previously seen the presence of the Halao Daogah (DHD), an insurgent group operating mostly in Assam and Nagaland. It was divided into two factions: DHD (Jewel) with an estimated 400 active cadres, and DHD (Nunisa) estimated to have 800-1200 active cadres.
