Two killed, one injured in road mishap in Sivasagar
Two people, including a lawyer, were killed and one was seriously injured in a horrific road accident in Sivasagar in the midst of Durga Puja festivities.

SIVASAGAR: Two people, including a lawyer, were killed and one was seriously injured in a horrific road accident in Sivasagar in the midst of Durga Puja festivities.
A Swift Dzire, carrying three people, sank in a pond near Mankata Ali at Rudrasagar on the way to Sivasagar from Jorhat on Wednesday night. The red-colored Swift Dzire bearing registration number ASO1-EO-0886 sank into a pond and as a result of which two of the passengers of the vehicle, including a lawyer, died.
A lawyer named Nibedan Sharma and a young man named Rajmani Das were killed in the accident, while seriously injured Mrinal Das was sent to AMCH, Dibrugarh for further treatment. Nivedan and Rajmani hailed from Rudrasagar.
Although after the accident, locals pulled the three men out of the vehicle from the pond and shifted them to Civil Hospital, Joysagar, where doctors pronounced the two dead. On the other hand, critically injured Mrinal Das was referred to Assam Medical College & Hospital, Dibrugarh for advanced treatment. Injured Mrinal Das' house is in Baliaghat, Sivasagar. After the accident, the police pulled the ill-fated vehicle out of the pond with a crane.
