TANGLA: Former Executive Member of BTC, Ganesh Kachari alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) were in secret alliance in the forthcoming BTC council polls and both the BJP and UPPL were putting in effort to help each other in a number of BTC constituencies.

He exuded confidence that the people of the Bodo belt would vote Hagrama Mohilary-led Bodoland People's Front (BPF) back to power for the sake of unity, prosperity and development in the region. Talking to this correspondent, he said that the SukaliSerfang BTC constituency represented by him had witnessed rapid growth and development in the past 15 years and he was confident that the people of the constituency would vote for him in the forthcoming BTC council polls and he would emerge victorious with a great margin.

On the question of former BPF working president, Biswajit Daimari's exit from the party, he said that it would not have any detrimental effect on the party as the BPF had a strong presence in the grassroots level. He further said that the Naba Kumar Sarania-led Gana Suraksha Party (GSP) backed independent candidates had lost their charm and this would not be a factor in the polls. He further stated that in the region, which had been neglected by various governments of the State, after formation of BTC under the powerful leadership of BPF president HagramaMohilary, witnessed development in various sectors. He exuded confidence that the BPF would bounce back to power for the fourth consecutive term.
