World Environment Day observed in Baksa district

GORESWAR: Along with the rest of the country, the World Environment Day was observed in Baksa on Friday.

On this occasion, the PHE department of Baksa organized a plantation programme with the active participation of women, Temple Managing committee, students, religious leaders and social workers at Bathou Ashram located at Kamal Nagar near Barama in Baksa district.

Inaugurating the programme, religious leader Haramohan Swargiary said that plantation activities on this special occasion were needed because in this pandemic situation the natural environment should be clean and protected.

The programme was observed with limited people keeping in mind the present COVID-19 pandemic situation and all preventive measures like social distancing, wearing masks, using hand gloves and hand washing were followed.
