DHUBRI: Amidst the corona pandemic, World Malaria Day was celebrated recently with the theme 'Reaching the Zero Malaria Target' in Dhubri district.

Different IEC (Information Education and Communication) activities such as awareness of malaria, including in MMU (Mobile Medical Unit ) camp, miking, ITBN (Insecticide Treated Bed Net) camp and leaflet distribution were carried out among the public by maintaining all the protocol of COVID-19 under the guidance of Dhubri Joint Director of Health Services.

A virtual meeting was organized through Google Meet with the In-charge BPHC (Block Public Health Centre), BPMU ( Block Programme Management Unit) along with all the NVBDCP (National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme) staff of the district and BPHC regarding the vector-borne diseases.

As mass public gathering was not permissible due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the District Vector Borne Disease Consultant and District Media Expert, Dhubri disseminated IEC messages through social media such as Twitter, Facebook and WhatsApp. All the activities were carried out by Dhubri NVBDCP and District Health Society, a source in the health department said.
