DDC FR Laskar Takes Stock of Progress of Development Parameters

Hailakandi: To give a further impetus to improving upon the various indicators of Assam’s aspirational Hailakandi district, separate meetings were held by the district administration with the heads of the concerned departments.

Chairing the meetings at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall on Friday, District Development Commissioner (DDC), FR Laskar asked the officials of the Agriculture Department to prepare an action plan on micro-irrigation in consultation with State Authority as ‘possibilities of micro irrigation is very rare in the district’.

Laskar asked the District Agriculture Officer to initiate necessary steps in consultation with Lead District Manager (LDM), UBI to build up awareness for increasing crop insurance coverage under the Pradhan Mantri Faisal Bima Yojana. The DDC directed the District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Officer to submit the cumulative figures of the target as well as achievements of artificial insemination by September 10.

Laskar asked the CEO, Zila Parishad to submit the status of water bodies rejuvenated under MGNREGA and initiate all necessary steps to increase the number of beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Grameen). The DDC instructed the Inspector of Schools and DMC, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan to submit detail report on functional and non-functional girls’ toilets with running water facility along with funds requirement proposal latest by September 10.
