Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli asks Public Health Engineering engineers to improve water quality

Hailakandi: Following complaints of poor water quality in Hailakandi municipal areas, Deputy Commissioner, Keerthi Jalli asked the engineers of Public Health Engineering (PHE), Hailakandi Division to attend to the problem at once so that residents of the town got quality water. Acting upon the public complaints, DC Jalli asked the PHE engineers to act upon them quickly to improve the quality of water in the town.

Executive Engineer, Assistant Executive Engineer, Assistant Engineer and staff of PHE swung into action on Sunday and inspected the Hailakandi town treatment plant by testing the water sample. It was found that the source was safe with no chemical or bacterial presence in water at the time of testing. The officials also interacted with the residents of Marwaripatty about the quality of water being supplied to them.

Meanwhile, PHE engineers have got down to work on Monday to improve upon the quality of water. The Executive Engineer has given strict instruction to the engineers of his department to carry out inspection at the terminal points falling under 12 water supply zones vis-a-vis Lakshmi Sahar, Kalibari Road, Tool Road, Ashram Road, Hailakandi Bazar, Kachari Road, Rabindra Sarani, College Road, Ratanpur Road, Silchar Road, Katlicherra bus stand and Project E Road.
