Dr Rajdeep Roy Prioritizes On Health, Employment And Infrastructure

Silchar: Dr Rajdeep Roy is on a roll, and definitely on cloud nine. He created history by defeating Sushmita Dev, Congress’ Silchar Lok Sabha constituency candidate and All India Mahila Congress, by a record margin of 81,596 votes. He received a total number of 4,99,414 votes while Sushmita Dev secured 4,17,818. However, he is indeed not in a restive state of mind. Addressing mediapersons at Itkhola BJP party office here on Friday, Dr Rajdeep Roy said, “I will focus on bringing revolutionary and radical changes in health, employment, road, transport and communication sectors. Infrastructure development of Barak Valley, upgrade of educational institutes and completion of the East-West Corridor are also on the list.”

“It is indeed a record-breaking performance. I am grateful to each and every BJP worker, Karyakarta and all those who worked relentlessly. We have debunked a myth that here it is not possible to win without the help of any third party. BJP won on its own, sans support, sans aid and assistance from any third party or power. We worked hard and so we were expecting to win by securing around 4.5 lakh votes. We got a whopping number of around 5 lakh votes. It is indeed a matter and joy and pride for the party. Cachar has been always facing some problems or the other. I will try to resolve these nagging issues and concerns at the earliest,” Dr Roy added.

Dr Roy said, “The magic waves created by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party national president Amit Shah, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma deserve special mention. The media, both print and electronic, has been kind disseminating news regarding various issues and problems of the people. Through these reports, we could solve and resolve many problems. Securing 52.59% of the total casting votes here speaks volume. Votes from the minority communities and tea garden areas have increased manifold. It reflects people are with our party. BJP will go ahead with the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) once again.”

“The party is committed to providing refuge and citizenship, and protect persecuted minorities from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan. I refrained from media appearances during the course of the election. We reached out to each and every village and tried to find out an solve their problems and complaints. I did my homework well and its result is before all to see. A new wave, pro-incumbency and pro-Modi, is on the rise. The results prove that BJP is capable of winning a one-to-one contest on its own. We also express our gratitude towards the district and police administration of Cachar. The days of elections and the day of counting have been a very peaceful one indeed,” Dr Roy added to say.
