Rich tributes paid to Swami Vivekananda in Silchar

Silchar: Akhil Bharatiya Vidarthi Parishad (ABVP), Assam University Unit, has solemnly observed the 156th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the cyclonic Hindu monk who took the world by storm at the religious conference held at Chicago in 1893, at the premises of the Varsity here today. Members of the Parishad paid floral tributes at the portrait of the great monk.

Pinak Pani Dhar, assistant register of the Parishad’s Assam University unit, spoke at length about Swami Vivekananda. He focused on various aspects of the great soul. In her speech, Mampi Sonowal, member of the Assam University unit of the Parishad, focused on the biographical aspect of the Swami. In addition to this, Yuva Shakti Parishad, Bibek Bahani, Ramakrishna Mission and various other organizations observed the day with devotion and paid their homage to the great soul. Long processions and rallies were also taken out.
