Wall magazine Vanguard released in Silchar

Silchar: The empowerment of women along with their improvement in political, social, economic and health status is highly important. It is essential for sustainable development. Education is one of the most important means of empowering women. With knowledge, skills and self confidence, women can participate fully in the development process. This was pointed out by Dr Ashima Roy, head, Department of Political Science of Radhamadhab College, Silchar, at the inauguration ceremony of the release of the 4th issue of Vanguard, the wall magazine of the Department. This time, the issue has been based on the theme ‘Women Empowerment.’ It was formally inaugurated by Dr Pronoy Ranjan Deb, principal of the College.

Dr Deb said that women constitute half power of the country so it is essential to empower them. “In order to make this country a fully powerful country, women empowerment is very necessary. Empowering women is to make them independent in all aspects from mind, thought, rights, decisions,” he added to say. Dr P.K. Sinha, associate professor and former head, Department of Political Science, highlighted the importance of wall magazines in educational institutions. He said that it is an important and appropriate platform for the students to express their views on a gamut of issues.
