Water ATMs inaugurated in Silchar

Silchar: In a noble gesture towards procuring better facilities towards the people, especially in rural areas, drinking water services were inaugurated at Kalain Fast Referral Unit and also at Community Health Centre at Katigorah on Sunday.

Cachar Deputy Commissioner Laya Madduri inaugurated the water ATMs in the presence of local MLA Amar Chand Jain. This is an unique way through which people can avail 300litres of safe drinking by using an ATM card.

Registration fee for the card is Rs 200 which would be valid for six months. Later, Madduri visited the CHC and visited different words viz OPD, general word, female word, toilets, bathroom etc. Deputy superintendent Doctor MS Bhowmik and senior medical officer Dr Suman Bhowmik were present amongst other doctors and including staff of this community health centre.

Commissioners expressed satisfaction at the way the hospitals are kept clean and tidy, a press release stated.
