Young scientist gets American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) recognition

Silchar, July 20: Dr Bodhayan Dev, a 30 year old Silchar based scientist and the younger son of Dr Bibhash Dev and Sumita Ghosh Dev, has been recognized by the prestigious American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) for his excellent and superlative academic achievements. He is the recipient of the impressive Old Guard Early Career Award 2018 as 1st runners up. ASME is a non profit organization which was set up in 1880. It is one of the oldest professional organizations in the world which promotes the art, science and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied science around the globe. ASME is having its headquarters at New York City in the States.

Dr Bodhayan Dev has an impressive record as an inventor as he has already applied for 20 patents with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) while working as researcher at the General Electric (GE) Global Research Centre. He has also several peer reviewed journals and articles on leakage characteristic of different material system and has authored a book titled ‘Leakage Characteristics of Ceramic/Glass Seals for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells’.
