Former Arunachal Pradesh CM Kalikho Pul’s son found dead at his UK apartment

GUWAHATI: Shubanso Pul, son of Arunachal Pradesh’s former Chief Minister Kalikho Pul’s, was found dead under suspicious circumstances, at his apartment in Brighton, Sussex (United Kingdom).

Shubanso was born to Dangwimsai Pul, who was Kalikho Pul’s first wife.

The family is trying to get in touch with the Indian High Commission in London (UK), so that his body could be brought back to India.

For a fact Kalikho Pul was found hanging in his room on August 9, 2016, less than a month after the Supreme Court ordered the removal of his government and ruled against his appointment as chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh with the support of some Congress MLAs.

Four years ago tension had then gripped capital Itanagar as soon as news of Pul’s death spread, with scores of agitated supporters surrounding Chief Minister Pema Khandu’s bungalow in Niti Vihar area, shouting slogans against him and demanding his government’s resignation.

Angry supporters also demanded a CBI probe into Pul’s “unnatural” death, refusing to allow his body to be taken out from the CM’s bungalow and insisting that he be buried inside the premises. A coffin, which was brought from outside, was damaged and set on fire by the crowd before the assembled media.
