Bimal Borah assures help to ASJA's Annual Award

GUWAHATI: A joint team of sports and cultural journalists of Assam met Sports and Youth Welfare and Cultural Affairs minister Bimal Borah and had a detailed discussion with him regarding various issues faced by the journalists and their possible solutions. The meeting was held at his office chamber in Janata Bhawan on Monday evening.

During the discussion, which lasted over an hour, Borah expressed his desire to create a congenial atmosphere for all stakeholders in sports as well as culture for the holistic development of the two sectors in the state. In the meeting, the minister assured all help to the Assam Sports Journalists Association for organizing its Annual Award function. Similar help would also be extended to Shilpi-SangbadikSamaroh, a function organize by the Assam Cultural Journalists Association, every year. Besides, he suggested involvement of the corporate sector to encourage the sportspersons as well as the artistes.
