Man can taste success through hard work: Sprinter Hima Das
NAGAON: It is apparently proved that anyone at any field or platform can taste the ultimate success if he or she works hard, the golden girl of the district Hima Das said on Monday here at a felicitation programme held at Khagen Mahanta auditorium in Nagaon.
She however said that she came back to Assam not for felicitation, rather to collect the token of love, affection and bless of the people of Assam.
She said that during her very short trip in the track, she gained large number of Assamese cultural hypocrisy- Assamese Gamusa and expected that in future they would hoist more Gamusa in the sky of the world. She stated that the government should promote more athletes from the state through organizing adequate training camps at various venues of the state so that another ten athletes of the State together could pose along with PM Modi next time.
She however appealing to the state government stated that if needed for that government should give topmost priority to organize national or international level training camp and should import perfect coaches. She on the other hand urged state government to make the proposed stadium in Dhing immediately as that another group of athletes from the district could go for another event.
In the felicitation programme organized by District administration and Nagaon Sports Association here on Monday after arrival at her home district from Asians game 2018 held in Jakarta. Union Minister to Railway for State, Rajen Gohain, Minister for State Water Resources, Keshab Mahanta felicitated the athlete, the golden girl Hima Das, her parents and coaches.
Railway Minister, Gohain in his speech, congratulated for her consecutive victory in the track rendering from Nagaon itself to Jakarta. He said that Hima would do far better in the days that would come. The Deputy Commissioner of Nagaon, Biswajit Pegu delivered the welcome address at the function.
More than hundred various organizations including district units of All Assam Students Union, Axom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad, Nagaon Sports Association, All Assam Journalists Union, Nagaon Press Club and others felicitated the athlete, Hima Das.
Following the felicitation programme, she visited Batradrava Than, the birth place of the great Assamese Saint, Srimanta Sankardeva on her way to home at Kandhulimari village in Dhing. On the other hand, she was felicitated by various organizations of greater Dhing areas at another public function held at her home town Dhing. Earlier she was welcomed by the district administration as well as the portfolio of Nagaon Sports Association at Thekaraguri, border of Nagaon-Morigaon districts. The district unit of AASU escorted her with a bike rally from Thekeraguri to Nagaon town. On the way to Nagaon town, she was also felicitated at various places like Raha, Dimu and others by various organizations.
