GUWAHATI: Next two-three years is very crucial for her and she wants to concentrate only in training, says the upcoming judoka of the State Puja Basumatary.

Puja was selected in the Target Olympic Podium (TOP) scheme of Sports Authority of India recently and will soon visit Japan to receive higher training. The judoka is among the six athletes from Assam who are selected for the scheme this year.

Talking to the media persons at the side line of a function in the city today Puja said, "I want to represent India and win medal from the Olympics. Next two-three years are very crucial for me and I have to work hard to reach that goal."

It may be mentioned here that during the last Khelo India meet, held in Guwahati, Puja won gold representing Assam in the U-17 category.

Today's function was also attended by the officials and coaches of the All Assam Judo Association. Renowned coach Bani Brata Das feels the judoca has good prospect in the international level. "I have been watching her for the last couple of years. She is a very good athlete and eager to learn. I am optimistic that after receiving training in Japan she will be stronger in mentally and physically and will also be a technically sound judoka. Among other present in the function was the president of the All Assam Judo Association Sailen Deka.
