Nuruddin Senior Inter-District Cricket: Tezpur storm into semi final

GUWAHATI: Tezpur entered into the semi final of the Nuruddin Senior Inter District Cricket defeating Morigaon by an innings and 40 runs in their last league match at the ACA Stadium, Barsapara here today. Tezpur, rode on a fine century from Anurag Talukdar (110), declared their first innings 360-7. Bastab narrowly missed a century as the batsman got out on 96. Morigaon, scored 163-9 in their first innings, also didn't do well with the bat in the second innings and were bowled out 157. Bhoirabh Bharali (55) was the top scorer and Sidharth Sarmah picked up 4-25. Tezpur earned 7 points from the match.

At Amingaon, Silchar required 126 runs to win their tie against Tinsukia on Tuesday. In the morning Silchar (163 in the first innings) earned a slender 14 runs first innings lead and later they bowled out Tinsukia in second innings 177 runs thanks to a nice spell from Rahul Singh who bagged 6-41. Nihar Narah (61) was the top scorer. Silchar were 38-2 in their second innings.

Biswanath Chariali were successful to earn 116 runs first innings lead against Karbi Anglong. The match was held at the Judges ground. In reply to Karbi Anglong's first innings total 179 Biswanath Chariali today bowled out 295 in their first innings. Shraban Kumar (104) scored a century. S Rongpi bagged 4-46. Karbi Anglong were 26-2 in their second innings at stumps on day II.

At the Nehru Stadium, Dibrugarh are in the driver's seat against Bongaigaon. Dibrugarh today declared their first innings 364-7. Sourav Saha (134) and Ishan Ahmed (123) scored centuries in the first innings. Bongaigaon bowled out 86 in the first innings. Dibrugarh were 21-1 in their second innings at stumps on day II.
