GUWAHATI: India and West Indies will arrive in the city on October 17 to play the first ODI of the series. The match will be held at the ACA Stadium, Basapara on October 21.

West Indies, already landed in India, will play two Tests, five ODIs and three T20Is during their ongoing tour. Hyderabad will host the second Test of the series from October 12-16 and West Indies along with a part of Indian team would fly to Guwahati next day to play the opening game of the ODI series. The rest of the Indian cricketers, who will be selected in the ODI squad, would arrive separately.

Talking to the media persons the secretary of the Assam Cricket Association Pradip Buragohain today said, “As per the itinerary both the sides will reach the city on October 17. Although the date will clash with Durga Puja but we have to make all the arrangement for smooth arrival of our visitors.”

A team of Assam Police led by City Police Commissioner Pradip Saloi today inspected the Barsapara stadium to access the security and other matters related to the game. During the inspection top officials of sports department including Commissioner and Secretary Ashutosh Agnihotri along with the ACA officials were present in the venue.

Meanwhile the tickets of the forthcoming ODI will likely to go for the sale from the second week of October. The prices, except a few categories, may be same like the T20 match that the ACA hosted last year. The treasurer of the ACA Moni Saikia today said to the media, “We have nearly finalized the prices of the match-ticket and except a few categories the rest of the tickets price are expected to be same like the previous T20I that we had hosted earlier. We will made the formal announcement within a week and tickets will likely to go on sale from the second week of October.”
