Rimple Rajkumari of DDK wins women’s singles title in Topcem Inter Media Badminton Championship in Guwahati

GUWAHATI, March 13: Rimple Rajkumari of DDK won the women’s singles title in the Topcem Inter Media Badminton Championship held at the Kanaklata Indoor stadium here today. In the final, she defeated her teammate L Aruna Chanu from Manipur by 11-3, 11-7. In the team event The Assam Tribune, comprising Sivashish Thakur and Rituraj Borthakur, lifted the title beating The Telegraph (Nayan Kachari and Mehdi Hussain) 2-1. The competition, which is the part of the XIth North East Media Sports Festival organized by the Assam Sports Journalists Association, got underway at the Kanaklata Indoor stadium here today. The secretary of the Assam Badminton Association Omar Rashid and Dhrubajyoti Adhikary, a top official of DDK, Guwahati, attended the inaugural function.
