GUWAHATI: Assam XI defeated FCI by seven wickets in the 25th All India JP Atray Memorial Cricket tournament match held at Chandigarh today. Chasing 168 runs to win Assam XI reached the target in 35.3 overs losing three wickets. Captain Sibsankar Roy (56) and opener Parviz Aziz (56) scored half centuries in the match.

Earlier invited to bat FCI were bowled out 167 runs in 44.5 overs. Roshan Alam bowled magnificently in the innings and picked up 5-38 in his ten overs which also gave him man of the match award. Two openers Mayank Sadana (82) and Subham Chauhan (32) gave good start to FCI but once the partnership was broken the side lost wickets on regular intervals. Four batsmen of the team failed to open their account.
